Festive food thoughts anyone?
I was at the Abergavenny Market Hall street market on Thursday – I must admit it was very disappointing on the veggie side.
An overwhelming smell of cheap meat and fried onions hit me as I went in.
Hardly any choice at all for those not interested in meat.
I still find that going to pubs in Abergavenny and local area is a bit hit and miss to find something appealing to eat.
So, where do you go for a festive season lunch or dinner?
Any recommendations for some interesting food?
So far I’ve checked The Crown at Pantygelli for their festive menu - not very appealing. A starter of Brussels sprout salad and a main of pumpkin and feta filo roulade with cherry tomato salad. Mmm... a bit boring.
Pizzorante’s Christmas menu. Starters: soup or bruschetta. Main course: risotto.
Tapas Twist in Frogmore street could only offer beetroot salad and roast potatoes on their Christmas menu!
The Grofield Abergavenny – their Christmas lunch is soup or breaded deep fried Brie followed by vegetable tart.
Also another moan – veggies always seem to have their main course (only ever one and never a choice) listed last, and we pay the same as meat eaters and the food is most probably the cheapest ingredients!
Grumbles over – anybody got some good recommendations? Please post them here!
